EUROGATE Intermodal operates to Ulm and Regensburg

Hamburg, 4 December 2006 +++ Starting on 11 December 2006, EUROGATE Intermodal’s new timetable will include daily connections from Hamburg/Bremerhaven to Ulm-Dornstadt and Regensburg. Additionally, the train system boxXpress.de is to adapt its domestic train schedules on all routes to become direct links with German ports. “This way we can improve our services to customers in spite of the despatching and handling problems at the ports,” was how Lars Hedderich put it, Managing Director of EUROGATE Intermodal GmbH. “Demand for container transport in these regions is extremely high.”

“Over the current year despatching and handling problems at the ports have created a substantial long-term cost burden. This was unforeseeable and its effects are likely to continue into 2007. So we are attempting to compensate by expanding and improving our service sector,” Lars Hedderich explained. “In spite of all these optimising measures, EUROGATE Intermodal still feels compelled to raise its transport rates by 5.1%.”
